Lyrebird Cottage is on Bribie Island, one of the most sought-after destinations these days because of its unspoiled natural beauty. The cozy 2 bedroom cottage is in close proximity to the Pumicestone Passage and the surf beach. Bribie Island maintains its unique seaside village atmosphere with no traffic lights and no high-rise buildings. It’s the perfect escape!

Lyrebird Cottage is a fully self-contained house. There are 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each and the sunroom has a bunk bed and a settee with 2 single mattresses. (House sleeps 6 comfortably or it can sleep up to 8). A home away from home, this air-conditioned cottage offers a full kitchen and living area.  The backyard is fully fenced so feel free to bring along the family pet!  There is also a dog-friendly beach not far from the house.

With a permit you can drive a 4WD on the beach from one end of the island to other. Bribie is the closest place to Brisbane to experience driving on the beach. A short detour inland reveals pristine freshwater lagoons, wallum scrub and exotic wetland habitat. At the northern end of the island lie the ruins of historic Fort Bribie which formed part of Australia’s line of defence against invasion during World War II. 

Lyrebird Cottage is within walking distance of the Shopping Centre and a heap of specialty stores.  The jetty at Bongaree and the beautiful Brennan Park or both within walking distance.

This family owned cottage likes a neat and tidy abode, so you have the choice of paying a linen fee and cleaning fee or you can bring your own linens, toiletries and cleaning supplies to leave the place as you found it when you go.
